except from the fish and parts of the bird there isn't really any details in the painting. I think it gives the whole thing a more classic feeling. I also like the angle of how things are. That you indeed succeed to include a sky even if it might be "messy" as some would like to say. This is one of those painting people would have on their wall because it gives a more realistic feeling. If you have to many details on a real painting it gets to much. This one is more calming. I don't think you failed. Of course there is stuff you might be able to improve. but that doesn't equal failur.

Anyway. After babbling. Just wanna say good work. I hope you'll keep the good work up
